Diogenes bunker

This WW2 German-built bunker in the Schaarsbergen area is amongst the very largest in the Netherlands and a Luftwaffe command centre, and at one time was thought to be a target for Operation Market Garden. It was decided to blow it up by detonating powerful explosives inside. However, it was so strongly built that it survived unscathed: the roof simply lifted off like a hat and then dropped back down!
